Ohm-Labs Multiple Current Shunt - Temperature Stabilized
- Improved Accuracy
- Wide range: <1 TO 300 A
- High immunity from ambient temperature changed
- DC or AC use
- Transportable
- Custom values available
The Ohm-Labs MCS Multi Current Shunt is an advanced, temperature-stabilized resistor designed for highly accurate current measurements in both DC and AC applications. Thanks to its innovative design, accuracy losses due to self-heating are eliminated, allowing the MCS to achieve a higher level of precision than traditional passive shunts.
Why choose a temperature-stabilized shunt?
Traditional shunts generate heat under load, which leads to resistance changes and measurement errors. The MCS series solves this problem by using cooled shunts with integrated thermistors, which automatically detect and compensate for temperature changes. This keeps the measured values constant and accurate, even under prolonged load.

Smart Design for Optimal Performance
The MCS housing contains multiple shunts, each equipped with an active cooling element. This minimizes the thermal drift of the shunt. Each shunt is also equipped with a 10K thermistor so that temperature changes in the shunt can also be monitored externally. The connections for the current cables are made of special materials to ensure the lowest possible transition resistance for the specific shunt.
The connections for measuring the voltage across the shunt are made of a special low thermal EMF material to minimize deviations here as well.
All this is built into a robust 19″ 3U high housing.
Applications
• Calibration of current meters, power analyzers, and electrical test equipment
• Research and development in high-current applications
• High-voltage and power electronics laboratories
• Precision testing in industrial and scientific measurement environments
