Isotech MillisKanner Channel Expander

The Isotech millisKanner is an advanced channel expander that significantly expands the functionality of the milliK Precision Thermometer. Where the milliK offers two sensor channels and one current channel as standard, the millisKanner adds eight additional universal inputs per module. These inputs can be individually configured for SPRTs, PRTs, thermistors or thermocouples, allowing a single system to be tailored to virtually any calibration or measurement setup.

Maximum scalability with no loss of accuracy

Up to four millisKanners can be connected to a single milliK, providing a total of 33 measurement channels (32 sensor channels plus the milliK’s 4–20 mA input). This expansion occurs with no degradation in accuracy, as the millisKanner maintains the same measurement integrity and signal quality as the milliK itself. The result is a scalable system suitable for both small laboratories and large calibration facilities. Each input channel is fully universal, supporting both resistance‑based sensors and thermocouples. This eliminates the need for separate expansion modules for different sensor types. The flexibility allows reference thermometers and units under test to coexist within the same system configuration, without restrictions on channel assignment.

Solid‑state architecture for high reliability

The millisKanner is entirely solid‑state, avoiding mechanical relays that can wear out or introduce switching errors. All inputs are galvanically isolated from the power supply and control electronics, preventing ground loops and reducing electrical noise. This ensures stable, reliable measurements even in electrically demanding environments. When connected to a milliK, the millisKanner is automatically detected and fully integrated into the system. All configuration and channel selection are handled through the milliK’s touchscreen interface, providing seamless operation. For standalone use as a PRT switch, the device includes UP/DOWN touch buttons and can also be controlled via RS232.

Thermocouple support with digital CJC

Thermocouple inputs are equipped with miniature thermocouple sockets and a built‑in digital Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) sensor. This sensor can be read directly over RS232, making the millisKanner ideal for automated systems requiring precise reference junction compensation.

With dimensions of 255 × 255 × 80 mm and a weight of 2.3 kg, the millisKanner is compact enough for portable setups yet robust enough for continuous laboratory use. It operates from a supplied 5 V DC power adapter, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
