Clarke-Hess 7600 Distortion Analyzer

The Clarke-Hess 7600 Distortion Analyzer is an advanced measuring instrument for signal analysis and harmonic distortion measurements, designed for applications in electronics, audio engineering, power electronics and signal processing. With a frequency range of 10 Hz to 600 kHz, a resolution of 0.001%, and a measurement range up to 100% distortion, the 7600 offers exceptional accuracy and versatility. This instrument utilises digital signal processing techniques and an optimised analogue front end, delivering high performance at a competitive price.

High accuracy and versatile functionality

The Clarke-Hess 7600 offers fully automated measurement, with the instrument automatically selecting the correct measurement ranges for both amplitude and distortion. This means that the user only needs to connect a single input cable to obtain a reliable distortion measurement. For highly distorted signals (>80%), the user can manually enter the frequency, after which the device will automatically record the distortion. The built-in signal lock ensures stable and consistent measurement, even with complex waveforms. Thanks to the isolated input, it is possible to perform measurements in grounded networks without interference from ground loops or common-mode errors

Extensive connectivity and user-friendly operation

The 7600 comes standard with IEEE-488 (GPIB) and USB interfaces, allowing users to:

> Read and analyse measurement data via software
> Select input filters
> Manually enter frequencies for more accurate measurements

The instrument has a high-resolution 4.3″ colour screen, which clearly displays measurement values and settings.

Robust input protection and reliability

The unique input protection circuit of the 7600 allows sudden high voltages to be applied without damaging the device. This eliminates the need to slowly build up voltage levels during testing, saving time and increasing efficiency.

Applications

The Clarke-Hess 7600 is ideal for:

> Harmonic distortion measurements in audio and power electronics
> Signal analysis in scientific and industrial applications
> Calibration and validation of audio equipment and amplifiers
> Research and development of electronic circuits and measuring equipment

The Clarke-Hess 7600 Distortion Analyzer offers an unmatched combination of precision, speed and reliability, making it an essential tool for signal analysis and audio or power electronics.
