Isotech 17703 Medium Temperature Furnace

The Isotech 17703 Medium Temperature Furnace is designed to realize and maintain the freeze plateaux of Indium (156.5985 °C), Tin (231.928 °C), Zinc (419.527 °C) and Aluminium (660.323 °C). With a wide operating range of 50 °C to 700 °C and a sophisticated three‑zone design, the furnace fully meets the requirements for optimal realization of ITS‑90 defining fixed points.

Three‑zone design for superior uniformity

While heatpipe furnaces offer excellent stability, their operating range is limited by the working fluid. The 17703 overcomes this limitation by using top and bottom guard heaters to minimize temperature gradients and create a highly uniform thermal environment.

The furnace core is machined from aluminium bronze, chosen for its excellent thermal conductivity and low axial gradients.

Suitable for multiple fixed‑point cells

The 17703 is ideal for laboratories working with Indium, Tin, Zinc and Aluminium fixed‑point cells. With a combined uncertainty of < 1 mK (with cells), the furnace is suitable for both primary and secondary temperature metrology.
