Isotech 984 Gas Flow System

The Isotech 984 Gas Flow System is designed to protect high‑temperature fixed‑point cells from oxidation during operation. At elevated temperatures, the graphite components of these cells react with oxygen to form CO₂, gradually damaging the cell. For lower‑temperature cells such as Indium, Tin and Zinc, this effect is negligible, but for Aluminium, Silver and Copper fixed‑point cells, excluding oxygen is essential to preserve accuracy and extend cell lifetime.

Reliable protection for valuable cells

The 984 system connects an inert gas supply — typically Argon or Nitrogen — to the fixed‑point cell inside its furnace or apparatus. By maintaining a constant, controlled gas flow, the system creates a protective atmosphere around the cell, preventing oxidation. This makes the 984 indispensable for laboratories working with high‑temperature fixed‑point cells.

Easy operation with precise flow control

The unit includes a regulator and a flow meter optimized for a flow rate of 12 litres per hour (0.2 L/min), the ideal value for effective cell protection. The controls are straightforward, allowing users to set and verify the flow quickly and confidently.

Built‑in safety through automatic alarm

A key feature of the 984 is its audible alarm, which activates if the gas flow is interrupted.
