The Isotech microsKanner is a high‑performance channel expander designed to extend the capabilities of the microK thermometry bridges into a fully modular, large‑scale measurement system. While a microK provides three input channels, each microsKanner adds ten additional high‑accuracy channels, allowing a system to be expanded to 90 extra channels without any loss of measurement performance.
Plug‑and‑play integration
Using true plug‑and‑play technology, the microsKanner is instantly recognized by the microK once connected. The new channels appear automatically in the operator interface and can be configured in exactly the same way as the microK’s built‑in channels, either via the touchscreen or through a PC using RS232. This makes the microsKanner the most intuitive expansion system of its kind.
Zero uncertainty contribution
The microsKanner replicates the microK’s input architecture for all ten channels. As a result, measurements made through the microsKanner have identical accuracy to those made directly on the microK. Even with the full expansion to 92 channels, the system maintains its world‑leading measurement performance.
Supports all sensor types
Like the microK, the microsKanner supports PRTs, SPRTs, thermocouples and thermistors, with each channel individually configurable. This flexibility allows reference thermometers and units under test to coexist within the same system, enabling highly efficient multi‑sensor calibration workflows.
Each of the ten channels includes a programmable keep‑warm current source, ensuring that PRTs remain powered when not being measured. This eliminates uncertainty caused by power coefficients and is especially valuable in multi‑channel comparison setups.
The microsKanner uses the premium Cable Pod™ connector system, accepting 4 mm plugs, spades or bare wires. The connectors are made from gold‑plated tellurium‑copper, providing the lowest possible thermal EMF and ensuring the best achievable measurement uncertainty. The standard ¾‑inch spacing ensures compatibility with common 4 mm‑to‑BNC adapters.
Solid‑state reliability
The microsKanner uses the latest semiconductor technology for channel selection and signal routing. Its completely solid‑state design eliminates mechanical relays, providing exceptional reliability and long‑term stability. With dimensions of 520 × 166 × 300 mm and a weight of 12.6 kg, the microsKanner is suitable for both laboratory and industrial environments. Its universal power supply (88–264 V) ensures global compatibility.
