Multifunctional design

Thanks to its Isocal-6 architecture, the Hyperion can function as a dry block, stirred liquid bath, ice bath, blackbody source, surface sensor calibrator and even as an ITS-90 fixed-point apparatus. These six functions in one instrument make it possible to calibrate virtually any temperature sensor without changing hardware.

Liquid Bath performance

In liquid bath mode, the Hyperion creates a highly homogeneous and stable temperature field in which sensors can be immersed directly in the liquid. This eliminates the need for specially drilled inserts and makes accuracies of up to 0.005 °C achievable when using a high-quality reference probe. For laboratories that regularly change liquids, liquid containers can be used to speed up the workflow.

Dry Block functionality

In dry block mode, the Hyperion provides a stable and uniform environment for calibrating larger sensors or multiple sensors simultaneously. The large block diameter allows industrial or unusually shaped probes to be placed without restrictions. In combination with ITS-90 fixed-point cells, uncertainties of up to 0.0005 °C can be achieved, making the Hyperion suitable for the most demanding metrological applications.

Model variants

The Hyperion is available in three versions. The BASIC version focuses on quick and easy calibrations and shows the set and measured block temperature on a clear display. The SITE version adds a built-in indicator for a reference probe, enabling best-practice calibrations without external equipment. The ADVANCED version offers the most comprehensive functionality, including additional inputs for test thermometers, automatic temperature cycling, data logging, USB export, a built-in web server and a multilingual interface.

Construction and ease of use

Despite its extensive capabilities, the Hyperion remains compact and robust. Weighing only 12 kg and with a power consumption of 200 W, the instrument is easy to transport and energy efficient in use. The combination of accuracy, stability and multifunctionality makes the Hyperion an ideal choice for both industrial calibrations and high-end laboratory applications.
