The HVD High Voltage Divider from Ohm-Labs<\/a> is a precise and robust voltage divider designed for applications up to 150 kV. This divider combines a modular design with an innovative shielding structure and offers both DC and AC outputs with high linearity and low measurement errors.<\/p>\n

Technical Design<\/h3>\n

The HVD is a modified version of the HVS High Voltage Standard and utilizes a customized Park divider structure with precision-matched resistors. The low-resistance section offers two DC and two AC ratios, with outputs of 1 V and 10 V. This makes the HVD suitable for a wide range of measurement and calibration applications.<\/p>\n

Guard Structure and Measurement Reliability<\/h3>\n

Like the HVS, the HVD is equipped with an innovative guard structure that shields each resistor at its rated voltage. This structure has a resistance ten times higher than that of the main distributor and forms a secondary distributor with a separate output for voltage monitoring. Larger and more robust ground connections ensure lower resistance to ground and improve overall measurement reliability.<\/p>\n

Modular and Robust Design<\/h3>\n

The high-voltage resistors are housed in an acrylic tube that provides protection against dust and contamination. A built-in low-voltage fan dissipates heat through the top of the distributor. The HVD-50 consists of a single 500 M\u03a9 stack, a low-resistance standard, and an upper toroid. The HVD-100 adds a second 500 M\u03a9 stack and an intermediate toroid. Thanks to the modular design, additional units can be easily stacked to increase the voltage range.<\/p>\n
