\nThe MI<\/a> Z1000 iSimulator introduces a completely new approach to LCR meter calibration. Where traditional methods rely on a series of external impedance standards\u2014each with their own limitations, drift, and complex manipulation\u2014the Z1000 offers an elegant, fully synthesized solution. Using two independent, high-precision voltage sources, the instrument simulates any desired impedance in the range from 1 \u03a9 to 10 M\u03a9, with an adjustable phase angle across the entire complex impedance plane.<\/p>\n

A complete calibration system in a single instrument<\/h3>\n

The Z1000 makes it possible to calibrate a complete LCR meter without external inductors, capacitors, or resistors. Only two reference probes need to be calibrated, which drastically reduces costs and complexity. The instrument has a frequency range of 100 Hz to 20 kHz, allowing virtually all commercial and industrial LCR meters to be calibrated within a single system.<\/p>\n

Because the impedance is fully synthesized, the user is no longer limited to decades of values or fixed phase angles. The Z1000 can generate any combination of amplitude and phase, effectively testing the full measurement range of the LCR meter \u2014 something that is impossible with a traditional method.<\/p>\n

A modern, efficient calibration method<\/h3>\n

In the Z1000, the voltage and current measured by the LCR meter are generated independently by two external sources. By precisely controlling the amplitude and phase of these sources, any desired impedance can be simulated. An internal MUX measures both the applied voltage and the voltage drop across the current source, so that the synthesized impedance is known exactly.<\/p>\n

The uncertainty of the calibration is mainly determined by the LCR meter itself; the internal references of the Z1000 have uncertainties in the range of 10\u207b\u2078 to 10\u207b\u00b9\u00b2, which are negligible in the overall uncertainty budget.<\/p>\n

User-friendly, fully automated software<\/h3>\n

The Z1000 comes with an intuitive software environment that automatically performs all calculations, switching, and verifications. The user is guided step-by-step through the process, including automatic setup verification, automatic switching, and automatic measurement procedures.
