Problem with surface temperature measurements<\/h3>\n

A fundamental problem with traditional surface temperature measurements is the influence of stem conduction. Heat dissipated by the sensor can cause local cooling of the measurement point, resulting in the displayed temperature deviating from the actual surface temperature. To eliminate this problem, the Model 944 uses a unique thermal compensation system that enables accurate and undisturbed measurement.<\/p>\n

Innovative Measurement Method<\/h3>\n

The Model 944 uses a fine wire Type N thermocouple as a surface temperature sensor. A second measuring point 2-3 mm away detects the temperature gradient caused by heat flux along the sensor. An integrated heating element heats the thermocouple stem until the temperature gradient becomes zero. This eliminates stem conduction, resulting in extremely accurate surface temperature measurement. This innovative technique was described in \u201cProgress in Contact Thermometry\u201d (1993, B.D. Foulis) and is manufactured and sold worldwide by Isotech.<\/p>\n
